Bath & Body Works Candle Haul

image

As the big Bath & Body Works sale was drawing to a close, I decided to take advantage of the 2 for $20 three-wick candle deal before it ended. Normally these big candles are $19.50 each, which is quite a lot, even when you consider that they burn for 30-45 hours each. Since I’m unwilling to spend nearly twenty bucks for a candle (wonderful as they may be), I use the sale opportunities to scoop up all the scents I want to stock up on.

I originally intended to buy scents from the autumn collection, but when I saw these guys I couldn’t resist. Not only are they so pretty to look at, the scent descriptions sounded amazing. I bought one of each scent: Cafe Au Lait, Sweet Macaron, and French Baguette. I also bought a large 3-wick “Autumn” candle, which is described as “dark pomegranate, sweet red apple and woodsy fir balsam”, which is fairly accurate.

I also purchased a “Warm Apple Cider” foaming hand soap for the bathroom, since I was out of liquid soap, and it smells absolutely marvelous. I wish they made that scent into a candle, (or perfume!) because I would absolutely buy it.

When my package came last night, I was a bit worried, because it’s risky to buy candle scents you’ve never smelled in person. What if I didn’t like them? The reviews for all of them on the site were really positive, but everyone has their own personal taste, so I was still apprehensive.

Luckily for me, they are all so incredible that I can’t stop raving about them. I haven’t lit any of them yet, because I’m still finishing up the last of my mini Slatkin & Co. candles that I posted about a little while ago. (Only one-and-a-half left!)

The “French Baguette” one smells EXACTLY like freshly baked bread. So delicious. It’s amazing that they are able to get such a spot-on-scent! The “Sweet Macaron” smells like bliss in a candle. It brings back memories of Laduree, back when I was in London. So yummy, and not that common sickly sweet sugary scent these things can sometimes be. The “Cafe Au Lait” candle smells amazing, but it’s the only one of the three that I don’t think is perfectly described. At first whiff I get a lot of coconut from it, though there is no coconut listed in the scent description. Anyway, I love coconut scents, so that, paired with a bit of a latte smell, is just fine with me! Just something you should know if you’re considering buying the candle, though.

And the cherry on top of this purchase was that I was able to put a 20% off coupon code on top of all my buys, even though they were already on sale! Which means that I got each candle for only $8, down from the original $19.50. Yay! I can’t wait to light these, but at the same time I’m hesitant to, because I like them so much I don’t want to use them up, and I’m afraid that Bath & Body Works will discontinue them or something. Isn’t that just the worst? x
