Loving Lately: Beauty Edition

Recent Beauty Favorites | Sara du Jour
Oh, how I’ve missed you all! To those of you who have been begging me to re-enter the blogging world, thank you. It meant so much to me that you missed my posts. I’ve had a beautiful few months away from the interwebs (though I was still active on twitter and instagram) but I’m back now! I can’t promise that I’ll be posting super frequently, as I don’t want to go back to where I was before – feeling like blogging was a chore I had to do that ate up much of my free time. I want to blog because it brings me joy, simple as that.

With all of that said, here are a few beauty products I’ve been thoroughly enjoying these last few months, from face products to lip products to beauty tools!

  1. Guerlain Terracotta Bronzer (#03)
This stuff warms up my skin tone beautifully, and is so finely milled, it blends smoothly and evenly. I used it all throughout the winter on my cheekbones to give me a bit of colour, and I have no plans of stopping!
  2. Sephora Cream Lip Stain (#01 Always Red)
I bought this lip stain on recommendation from a friend, and it is gorgeous. Think MAC’s Ruby Woo in colour – bright, matte, and the perfect retro red. Though it applies like a lip gloss, it gives smooth, opaque coverage, and feels like you’re not wearing anything on your lips!
  3. NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil (Dolce Vita)
Rediscovering an old favourite is always a great feeling. When I want a beautiful but natural colour lip, this is my go-to. Dolce Vita is a beautiful rose colour, that’s the ideal “your lips, but better” shade. Plus, it lasts for hours!
  4. Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation (I wear “Ecru”)
I’ve gotten back on the liquid foundation bandwagon. I left for a while, in pursuit of CC creams, but when you want perfect coverage, there’s nothing like a good liquid foundation. Double Wear provides incredible coverage without having to use very much product, and it doesn’t make me get shiny throughout the day.
  5. Real Techniques brushes – I use the Core Collection (set of 4) plus the Expert Face Brush
I can’t say enough good things about these brushes. They have honestly changed my life, and I recommend them to all my friends. I used to be the biggest advocate of applying foundation with my fingers, but the Expert Face Brush does an even better job of providing even coverage without wasting product. These brushes are incredibly affordable and super high quality – no shedding! Along with the Expert Face Brush, I also now use their Buffing Brush to powder my face and set my makeup, and their Contour Brush to apply my blush.

What beauty product have you been loving lately? Leave me your favourites in the comments! xx

The nars matte lip pencils are by far one of my favourite things, I’ve been wearing Cruella a ton lately which was Sephora’s free birthday gift this year, it’s so gorgeous.
    So great that you’re back!!

YAY! So glad that you are back!
I’ve always wanted to try the Real Technique brushes. I’m in the need for a few new eye brushes – so I may just give them a try.
