Before Summerlicious in Toronto ended for the year, Lena and I determined to squeeze in one more fine dining experience before time ran out.
Lena suggested Rosewater Supper Club, a hotspot frequented by celebs like Jude Law, Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Wahlberg, David Beckham, and Sir Anthony Hopkins during the Toronto International Film Festival. (more…)
Summerlicious in Toronto has rolled around again! That wonderful time of year when even twenty-something peasants like us (I kid) get the chance to try out the fanciest restaurants in the city at a much more reasonable price. I blogged about our experience at Toula restaurant during last year’s Summerlicious festival, but this year, we set our sights even higher. (more…)
Mexican is probably one of my all-time favourite cuisines. It’s vibrant, flavourful, and fresh.
BlogTO recently put together a list of Toronto’s best Mexican restaurants, which I swiftly sent to all my friends. Luckily they were equally eager to give some of them a try, so on Friday night we made reservations for post-work week dinner and drinks at Frida Restaurant & Bar. (more…)
Momofuku’s legacy began in 2004, in a loud, crowded, inexpensive little ramen shop in New York’s East Village. Their particular brand of tasty Americanized Japanese, Korean, and Chinese dishes proved to be a smash hit, and in 2012, they opened a sister location right here in Toronto by the same name. (more…)
I don’t think I’ve ever felt so uncivilized and brutish in my life. There’s nothing like afternoon tea to make you realize how lacking you are in old-fashioned etiquette. Or is that just me? (more…)

(We just came to eat, though, because we are 22 going on 85.) (more…)
Like most people, I look forward to Fridays, for obvious reasons. This particular Friday, however, had me counting down for months, because I knew we had quite an evening in store. (more…)
After a long work week, my friends and I like to meet up on Friday nights to eat, drink, and catch up on each others’ lives. Last Friday, we went to our favorite pizza restaurant in Toronto: Famoso. (more…)
Saturday was Mikayla’s 19th birthday, and having just moved to the city not knowing anyone here but me, I decided to take her out for a night of “firsts”. (more…)
Let me warn you right now: this post is going to be chalk-full of puns. It’s not pho the weak of heart – so brace yourself.
In the heart of Toronto’s Chinatown lies a little gem of a restaurant, called Pho Xe Lua, which roughly translates to “Pho Train”. (more…)
(Get your mind out of the gutter! Naughty.)
On Sunday the girls and I went for lunch to place that only recently came to Canada from the States: Five Guys Burgers & Fries. (more…)
Every year in July, some of Toronto’s top restaurants open their doors for Summerlicious, a culinary festival of fabulous three-course prix fixe menus at reduced price points.
It’s a great opportunity to enjoy fine dining and taste new dishes, so we try to take advantage every summer. (more…)
