Artist Spotlight: Inslee

Seeing double? A great many of you have asked questions about the illustrated “me” on the right sidebar of my blog. Mainly, “Did you draw that?” and “Where did you find that?”

No, I didn’t draw it, and for a long time, I didn’t know who did. But I got Sherlock on the case, and the mystery has finally been solved!

Here’s the original image I found on tumblr, without a source.

With a bit of photoshop magic, I painted out the background, changed the trench coat color, skin tone, face shape and hair colour to more closely resemble me.

Ever since, I’ve been on the hunt to find the artist who created the original work. I’d seen many illustrations in the same style, and absolutely loved them – so I was determined to give credit where credit was due!

After much searching, I’ve finally found the very talented lady responsible: Inslee!

I’m a fan of practically everything she does. Check out her blog to see a whole slew of her other drawings and watercolours. She even takes commissions, so if you’re looking for a custom watercolour of yourself done (whether for wedding invitations, branding, or custom stationary), she’s your gal!

Here are a few of my favorite pieces she’s done.

Don’t you wish life could be as beautiful as it is in her drawings?

Check out her shop where you can buy her calendar or beautiful prints for your home of office.

Case cracked! xx
