The holidays are my favourite time of year. I love everything festive: the sparkling lights adorning trees all over the city, delicious holiday-themed food and drinks, Christmas music in every store, and the general feeling of warmth and cheer. And there’s nothing more festive and all-out Christmas-y than the annual Toronto Christmas Market. Continue Reading →
I love a classic silhouette, and many of the outfits on this blog feature figure-hugging midi dresses. I think they’re beautiful on every body type, and perfect for office holiday parties – particularly if you want to dress a little more conservatively while still feeling fancy and looking great. I love party season. Mid-November until the first of January is a dazzling whirlwind of holiday parties, my birthday, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. So many reasons to dress up! And as anyone who knows me knows – I’ll take any excuse. Continue Reading →
Greetings from Themyscira! So, are you surprised I dressed up as Wonder Woman for Halloween this year? No? Huh.
Read on for all the details on this costume/cosplay, including all the product links, my tips and tricks, and photos of me pretending to fight things. Continue Reading →
I’m baaaaack! And just in time for Halloween. You didn’t think I’d miss an opportunity to play dress up, did you? I’ve dressed up as many iconic fictional females, from Holly Golightly to Lara Croft to Hermione Granger to Belle. This year, I went for the original Disney princess: Snow White. Continue Reading →
Happy Monday! I hope you all had wonderful, relaxing weekends that made the most of the sunshine. My weekend was filled with wine, old friends and new, Italian food, laughter and gossip on patios, and birthday celebrations. Continue Reading →
Happy first day of summer! This is the happiest I’ve been on a Monday for a while, because I’ve taken a vacation day, and thus have my own, private long weekend. (So #blessed.) I’m happily still lazing about in bed, snacking on grapes and watching a few Youtube videos on my iPad while I put together this blog post. Continue Reading →
This spring I’ve been doing something more brave than usual: I’m wearing white. I love the way white looks in an outfit, but when you’re as much of a hazard to yourself as I am, wearing it is a big risk. Continue Reading →
So, I meant to post this spring style haul weeks earlier, when spring in Toronto had really just begun. Temperatures were finally warming, meaning Canadians were tentatively peeling off their parkas and poking their heads out the door. Trees were shaking off memories of snow and starting to bloom, lifting everyone’s spirits.
Cut to: today – the weather is gorgeous, and it’s just about summer. I’m running around in dresses most days! But until June 22nd, it’s still technically spring. So onwards with this (delayed) spring haul. Continue Reading →
While I like trying out new makeup brands and products as much as the next femme, when it comes to my daily beauty routine, I have a few staple makeup products that I refuse to go without. In fact, I’m so attached to these 10 beauty products that as soon as one starts running low, I run and buy a back-up!
I’ve re-purchased most of these products over and over, and they’ve all reigned supreme over any competition, achieving “holy grail” status. Continue Reading →
I’ve been a little off the grid the last few months (though you can always find me on Instagram), but I thought I’d return to the blogosphere to share a few of my favourite things, ranging from beauty, to fashion and tech. Continue Reading →
If you’ve been following my blog or Instagram for a while, you know all about my love affair with Kate Spade, and things with gold dots. Naturally, so do my friends and family. Which is why when it came time for my birthday and Christmas gift giving, it was a very Kate Spade haul-iday for me – which I couldn’t be more pleased about. Continue Reading →
This berry cream soda cocktail might be my new favourite drink. It all started when I discovered Galliano Vanilla Liqueur back in December. I love vanilla everything, from perfume to candles to desserts, so I was fairly confident I’d like this stuff, too. My next task was to design a drink that used it. After some experimentation, the Berry Cream Soda was born.
Some people love the taste of alcohol, and enjoy a glass of whiskey or bourbon on the rocks. I’m the total opposite. I like my cocktails as sweet as possible, with the actual alcohol concealed completely. If you’ve got a sweet tooth like me, and like to get your buzzed covertly, then this is the cocktail recipe for you. As the name suggests, it tastes exactly like cream soda! Continue Reading →
Oh, I’ve been very bad these last few months. This boot and shoe haul is a bit delayed because of all the busyness that is the holiday season, but better late than never I suppose!
Forgive me father for I have sinned – there were too many amazing sales around Black Friday, and I am weak. This shoe haul is a collection of footwear I snagged at an amazing price the week of Black Friday, as well as a very generous Christmas present. But fear not! If you are coveting thy internet neighbour’s shoes, all of these are still currently available in stores. Continue Reading →
When it comes to sticking to a fitness regimen, it helps to have the right gear. I know that for me, if my fitness gear is cute, I’m excited to use it and that helps me stay motivated. If you’re striving to keep to your New Year’s resolution to exercise more frequently (or at all), packing your gym bag essentials the night before makes it easier to grab it and go the next morning. And that’s means you have one less excuse to make the day-of!
I am the opposite of a morning person, so I go to the gym straight from work a few days a week. Here’s what I typically pack: Continue Reading →
